The EmperorThe Emperor is the head of japan and has these powers: Appoints members of the diet, Appoints the prime minister, puts laws into act, decides when to assemble the diet, chooses when to dismiss any members of cabinet and the prime minster, awarding rewards, meets with other prime minsters and ambassadors. The current Emperor is Akihito

The Prime MinsterThe prime minster has second power of japan. These are his jobs: controls and supervises the entire diet, presents bills to the diet, signs laws and cabinet orders, appoints all cabinet members and can dismiss them at any time, can permit legal action against cabinet members, must report to the diet if citizens of japan or cabinet members demand answers and/or explanations. the current prime minister is Shinzo Abe

The diet is split into two houses one being higher government and the other being a lower house. The lower house is the house of representatives which has 480 seats and the higher house the house of councillors which has 242 seats
